As we noted in today’s Daily Chord, a thief stole Peter Buck’s Rickenbacker in Helsinki. As the story notes, Buck’s been using the axe since 1982. It is the sonic signature of R.E.M. We’re hoping Peter gets it back ASAP. Pictured here, in happier times at SXSW this past March, are Mr. Buck and the now-missing guitar.
