LOST AND FOUND

Lost: Def Leppard’s dignity (but I still love them and consider Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story the best band biopic EVER!).

Found: Roger Waters’ pig. In tatters. In a driveway. In La Quinta. Video here.

THE PIG AND THE SEX TAPE

Roger Waters’ pig has gone missing.

But apparently the sex tape of Jimi Hendrix has been found.

Meanwhile, since we’re in the 60s, Yes is going on tour.

COACHELLA - AND THE DESERT BECOMES DESERTED (CRAP CEL PHONE YOUTUBE EDITION)

Okay, we all knew the cel phone video of Prince doing “Creep” video would show up on YouTube at some point so here it is (courtesy of Brooklyn Vegan).

Tom said the MMJ set went okay but that he was told his ass looked huge on the giant monitors. How I wish I’d been there to see that. And David Hasselhoff (and his black eye). Tom gets to have all the fun!

I’ve been to Coachella once and it was grand (Underworld! The Chemical Brothers!). However, I confess that I was not entirely sober. Now that I no longer imbibe, I have to say that standing in 103 degree heat in the desert sounds rather like hell on earth.

That said, I got super wistful when I started reading about…

The National

and The Verve

Also, Tom told me that Portishead was amazing.

I hope you had a smashing time out there in Indio (if you went) and if not, now we can pretend we were there.

I actually will be sweating it out at Bonnaroo so I’ll have first hand accounts of how I can’t stand the heat (but stole Kirk Hammett’s fork. Again!)

Email your tales of Coachella to musicblog@sxsw.com.

It’s really early on Monday morning. Why am I awake?! lp

LIVE BLOGGING COACHELLA - PRINCELY UPDATE

Prince just covered Radiohead’s “Creep.”

I’m not quite sure what to think about this. In the meantime, since there’s no crappy cel phone YouTube videos of this momentous occasion online yet, please enjoy this completely freaking weird Kermit the Frog cover (which you’ve probably already seen because I’m always late about stuff).

It’s 3.30 am EDT so you heard it here first! Maybe!

Email your Coachella moments to musicblog@sxsw.com. Tell me what I’m missing besides 107 degree heat. And Sheila E. And David Hasselhoff.
