PICK THREE - ERIC MAYERS, TOUR MANAGING GOD

Eric Mayers, ferocious teddy bear and heavily bearded tour manager who gets the best backdrops ever, enjoys snowboarding, vacationing, poster collecting, visiting Zagat rated restaurants while on tour and walking his dog with his wife.

Not long ago Mr. Mayers tackled The LP Questionnaire.

And without further ado, here’s some Pick Three tidings from My Morning Jacket’s groovy TM…

Akron/Family
: I really like their self titled record, especially the song: How Do I Know. Having never seen them live, I am excited to hear how their softer songs translate.

Ghengis Tron: The best band name ever. I have never heard of them, seen them, but their songs on myspace remind me of Mastodon, Boris and Satyricon. Game on!

Eddie Spagetti
from Supersucker’s panel, Tour Smart: Can’t wait to hear his take on making it happen on the road.

Hope you enjoyed this edition of Pick Three. Email your thoughts on rainbows and unicorns to musicblog@sxsw.com. More groovyness coming tomorrow, lp

PICK THREE - HILIARY KERBY OF SXSW

Hiliary Kerby, a self-described Milhouse, works in Film Sales and is by all accounts funny, adorable and getting married in November.

I’ve yet to solve the mystery of why her name is spelled Hiliary.

Another mystery is this photo, where she appears to be under attack by a giant mass of stuffed hedgehogs.

Please enjoy her Pick Three.

The Black Keys: I actually squealed when I saw them on the list. I hadn’t heard of them when my brother got me the Rubber Factory CD for Christmas a few years ago, but I’ve been hooked ever since.

DJ Rapid Ric: My boyfriend and friend came back with “What It Dew” on a recent 40 run at our neighborhood corner store. A great find, but they’ve been reminding me “I done broke the first rule” ever since.

Ice Cube/Dolly Parton: I know opposite ends of the spectrum, but I can’t help myself. One isn’t one to get played like a poop butt and the other an island in the stream – you can see my dilemma, right?

Thanks for stopping by. Check back later today for wise choices from the venerable Eric Mayers, tour manager extraordnnaire.
