Tomlab and Anticon team up on stage at SXSW ‘08

Thee Oh Sees
Get ready for a night of way out sounds when the avant/experimental German label Tomlab, teams up with the U.S.A.’s hip-hop deconstructionist crew Anticon for an exclusive showcase of new sounds and way out beats.

The Anticon crew are no strangers to SXSW, we’ve been hosting showcases by the creams of their crops for years. You might say that we’ve watched them grow from young, brash weirdos into full fledged, highly respected musicians who have taken hip-hop in more directions than the New York subway system. The legendary Why? have released music on both labels and are widely lauded as one of Anticon’s most innovative collectives, while the classically trained newcomer Son Lux is set to unleash his lethal combination of downtown New York free jazz, true school hip-hop and Midwest industrial waste on an unsuspecting public.

The Taipei cum New York duo Misha will perform songs from their debut full-length Teardrop Sweetheart, while psychedelic folk rockers Thee Oh Sees will premier tracks from their latest Tomlab release, The Masters Bedroom is Worth Spending a Night In.

San Francisco’s Hey Willpower and Vancouver’s No Kids round off the bill.
